Mentors

Eric Cayemberg

Eric Cayemberg, Tripoli 7783, is a Level 3 member of the Tripoli Rocketry Association; as well as a NAR member (90688). Eric founded the Lakeshore Area Rocketry Society in January of 2006, followed by the Tripoli Prefecture Manitowoc (#120) in 2007. Eric is the current Prefect for Tripoli Manitowoc (#120). Eric is also a member of the Rockets for Schools Committee (www.rockets4schools.com). Along with occasional contributions to Rockets Magazine and (formerly) Extreme Rocketry, Eric enjoys visiting local, regional, and national launches and performing range duties at these events. Eric is employed with Burger Boat Company (www.burgerboat.com) in Manitowoc, WI where he is the Safety and Environmental Manager, as well as the Lean Leader. Eric has been employed at Burger Boat since August of 2005. In his free time, Eric enjoys spending time with family, flying rockets, participating in research rocketry, and playing disc golf. Eric looks forward to sharing his passion of rocketry with the Star-Splitters SLI team in their quest for success in 2010- 2011.

Chris Dewane

Chris Dewane is a Programmer/Analyst in De Pere Wisconsin. He learned programming on a Commodore 64 and has been programming ever since. In addition Chris is a icensed amateur radio operator (call sign AB9RP) and hopes to complete level 1 high power rocketry certification by next summer.

Russell Olp

Russell Olp has been interested in rockets since the first moon landing was broadcast. Watching the original Star Trek and reading Isaac Asimov and Ray Bradbury encouraged his preoccupation with space technology. Russ studied at a number of colleges, attaining a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh and a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from the University of Dayton. He is currently employed at Point Beach Nuclear Plant as an Electrical Engineer. Russ has led teams the last four years in Rockets for Schools, where they won first place in two of those years. He has recently achieved his Tripoli Level 2 Certification. Russ is married and has three sons.

Abby

Abby is a homeschool 6th grader. Her favorite subjects include reading and science.
Her hobbies are robots, rockets, archery, role playing games, reading, and theatre.
She is a member of the Lothlorien archery team and has competed in the NASP State archery tournament. She enjoys performing in plays at the Dare to Dream Theatre. She has been a variety of characters including a princess, an elf, a spider, and her favorite; Johnny the Pirate from “Treasure Island.” She is a true book worm who LOVES reading!

Anatole

Anatole is a home schooled freshman in high school. Some of the courses he has completed include Algebra I and II, Physical Science, Earth Science, and AP Biology. The courses that he is taking now are German, AP US History, Geometry, American Lit, and Chemistry. He has fenced in the past, and this will be his fourth year on a YMCA swim team. He enjoys gardening, computer programming, reading, and playing the violin. He is also the treasurer of his local 4-H club. He has participated in the 2010 Rockets for Schools contest and his team won first place.

Blayne

Blayne is a home-schooled freshman in high school. Blayne’s curriculum for this 2010 year is Switched on School House. He is working on Bible, Integrated Physics and Chemistry, Language Arts, World Geography, and Saxon Math. Blayne was in baseball for 4 years, attended swimming lessons and piano lessons. He is also in the local 4-H club. Blayne has been participating in the Rockets for School now for 3 years.

Holly

Holly is a home schooled sophomore in high school. Her hobbies include painting, drawing, rockets, archery, and theater. This is her 3rd year in rockets. Her team won 1st in class I and 4th in class II. She is a member of the Lothlorien Archery team and has competed in the NASP State Archery tournament. She enjoys taking art classes at the Rahr West Art Museum and doing art projects at home. She has performed in many plays at Dare to Dream Theatre including “The Hobbit” and “Treasure Island.”

Jenny

Jennifer is 8th grader from Two Rivers, Wisconsin. She goes to Monroe Virtual School. She started in rockets in 2008. Her team has won first place. She likes to play volleyball and tennis in her spare time. She also likes to go camping with her family during the summer. She has participated in the Rockets for Schools competition during
the years 2008-2010.

Maia

Maia is a ninth grader at Wisconsin Virtual Academy. She’s currently taking earth science, algebra, honors literary analysis, honors social studies, and French. Maia is on student council, and enjoys reading, making jewelry, acting, and singing. She was a part of the 2010 rockets for school competition, in which her team won first place.

Noah

Noah is a 6th grader in Wisconsin virtual academy online school. This is his first rocket building experience. He likes to read, play soccer, and play video games. Noah is also a boy scout and likes to camp.

Philip

Philip is home-schooled and is a sophomore in high school. Philip has played the piano for 10 years and the french horn for 4 years. He has been a member of the Manitowoc Marine Band for the past two years. Philip has competed at the NASP State Archery tournament with the Lothlorien Archers for the past 5 years. He has also participated in the Rockets 4 Schools competitions since 2007, with two of those years winning first place in the Class I and Class II division. He has also been a member of the local Tae Kwon Do school for 3 years and is currently a black belt. He is a member of the Two Rivers Police Explorer Post and hopes to pursue a career in law enforcement.

Roger

Roger is a home schooled freshman in high school. The classes he is taking are Algebra 1, Physical Science, Writing and Grammar, Baptist History, Geography, and Literature. He enjoys playing golf, the guitar, and the piano and he has also played baseball for 4 years. He is also in the local 4-H club and has participated in the rockets for schools competition for 3 years. His team won first place twice, once in the class 1 division and once in the class 2. His most memorable moment for rockets was when his team won first place in the class 2 division and qualified for SLI with NASA.
Brandon

Brandon is a 14 year old 9th grader.This is his 4th year working with rockets. Last year his team took 1st place. He also enjoys building model rockets and launching them with friends. He enjoys photography and loves working with photo shop on pictures he takes. Brandon also enjoys doing civil war reenactments with his dad and playing sequence with his mom. His favorite subject in school is photography.
